Your project begins with an assessment of your current flooring from our Site Supervisor.
During this visit, we:
- Assess your existing subfloor condition
- Identify any areas requiring preparation
- Discuss your preferred board direction
- Review room transitions and finishing details
- Identify intricate areas requiring special attention
- Answer any questions about the installation process
This allows us to prepare an accurate installation plan and ensure your floor is installed correctly from day one.
Floor preparation is essential for timber flooring installation. Before installation can begin, your subfloor must meet ATFA requirements.
Depending on its condition, preparation may include:
- Surface grinding
- Removal of high spots
- Self-levelling compounds
- Patching gaps and imperfections
- Concrete preparation
- General surface smoothing
If your subfloor does not meet ATFA standards, installation cannot proceed until required preparation is completed.
Our team can coordinate all preparation work before installation begins.
Once preparation is complete, we ensure everything is ready for installation.

Lifewood can install timber flooring to existing stair structures, creating a seamless transition between levels and delivering a premium finish throughout your home.
While we do not construct staircases, we can install timber flooring onto existing stair structures that are ready for floor installation.
Stair installations generally require additional installation time and are quoted separately as part of your project.

Projects involving stair installations generally require an additional two days. Your project timeline will be discussed during your consultation and site inspection.
