BOARD REPLACEMENT

In many cases, damaged timber flooring can be repaired without replacing the entire floor.

Individual board replacement is often the most practical and cost-effective solution when damage is isolated to a small area.

Our team can assess the condition of the flooring and determine whether board replacement is appropriate for your situation.

MATCHING EXISTING BOARDS

Timber is a natural product, and no two boards are identical.

Variations in colour, grain pattern, texture, and natural character are normal and form part of the unique appearance of a timber floor.

When carrying out repairs, Lifewood will always aim to match the existing flooring as closely as possible using available materials and our knowledge of timber species and flooring products.

However, homeowners should understand that some variation between old and new boards is normal, particularly where existing flooring has aged, weathered, or changed colour over time.

Our goal is to achieve a repair that blends naturally with the surrounding floor while maintaining the overall appearance of the space.

WATER DAMAGED
TIMBER FLOORING

Water damage can affect timber flooring in many different ways and prolonged moisture exposure can compromise the structure and performance of the floor.

Early assessment is important, as identifying the source of the moisture is often just as important as repairing the flooring itself.

Signs Of Water Damage
  • Swelling or lifting boards
  • Cupping along board edges
  • Discolouration or staining
  • Soft spots
  • Board movement
  • Changes in floor level

TERMITE DAMAGED FLOORBOARDS

Termites can cause significant damage before the problem becomes visible on the surface.

Once the termite activity has been addressed by a licensed pest professional, damaged flooring can often be repaired through targeted board replacement.

Signs Of Termite Damage
  • Hollow sounding boards
  • Soft spots underfoot
  • Visible timber deterioration
  • Crumbling timber
  • Surface irregularities

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Got any questions? Lifewood has you covered. Ask our friendly team over the phone or in-person. We’re happy to help out!

Can individual floorboards be replaced?

Yes. In many cases, isolated damage can be repaired by replacing individual boards rather than replacing the entire floor.

Will replacement boards match my existing floor?

We aim to match existing flooring as closely as possible. However, timber is a natural product and some variation in colour and grain is normal.

Can scratched timber flooring be repaired?

Yes. Depending on the severity and location of the damage, repairs may involve board replacement, localised repairs, or sanding and resurfacing.

How many times can timber flooring be sanded?

As a general guide, Lifewood Stabilised Solid® Timber Flooring can typically be sanded approximately four times over its lifespan.

Do you repair water damaged flooring?

Yes. We can assess water-damaged flooring and recommend the most appropriate repair solution based on the extent of the damage.

Can termite damaged boards be replaced?

In many cases, yes. Once the termite issue has been addressed, damaged boards can often be removed and replaced.

Do you offer timber floor deep cleaning?

Yes. Professional deep cleaning is available for floors affected by built-up dirt, grime, and general wear.

Do you sand and resurface timber floors?

Lifewood can recommend trusted sanding and resurfacing specialists where appropriate.

How do I request a maintenance assessment?

Simply contact our team or submit photos of the affected area for an initial review.

Can you repair floors installed by other companies?

No. Our maintenance and repair services are limited to Lifewood flooring products. If you're unsure whether your floor was supplied by Lifewood, our team can help confirm this.
